SWISSFORCE skin care TIPS
How pollution affects our skin
Protect your skin from pollution
The skin is arguably the most efficient barrier we have to protect our internal organs. But since it’s so soft and flexible, it’s also the most vulnerable to external damage. Our skin absorbs environmental toxins and pollutants without us even realizing. This creates a unique situation that scientists have taken an interest in.
The past decades have brought more pollution into our everyday environment, whether in the form of ultraviolet radiation, volatile organic compounds, cigarette smoke, ozone, or particulate matter. The skin is normally able to fight such pollutants, but repeated and prolonged exposure to them affects it negatively. That is why we recommend you to create your personal care routine for cleansing, face care or body care using our skin care products that will help you to protect and have better skin.
Some of the harmful effects of air pollution on our skin include inflammatory and allergic skin conditions, such as psoriasis, eczema, acne or atopic dermatitis. Air pollution has also been linked to skin aging and, worst of all, skin cancer. While this may sound like a hopeless problem, there are things we can do to protect our skin from pollution and foreign particles. It all starts with cleansing skin routine, for example with Perfect Skin by Swissforce, which purifies the skin without ripping its protective barrier. It may be tempting to over-cleanse or exfoliate your skin in order to get rid of pollutants, but that will only make matters worse. Opt for gentle, perfume-free products that don’t leave your skin vulnerable. Internal hydration and local moisturizing also make a difference, as do the application and ingestion of antioxidants.
